  • AWS
    • Familiar with AWS. An expert is not required, but someone who has production experience.
    • Has heard of and can give a general description of most AWS services. Enough to be able to jump in and create permissions and reports without feeling overwhelmed by a new technological concept.
      • Moderate on EC2
      • Moderate on RDS
      • IAM
      • Basic JSON
      • Moderate IAM planning; know how to structure permissions intuitively & for scale.
    • Basic general AWS knowledge

      • Maintenance/best practice
  • PowerShell
    • Demonstrate a moderate ability to read & write PowerShell code.
    • Able to think in terms of more than just one-off scripts, but automation & task/playbook execution using PowerShell.
    • Demonstrate an understanding of reading VBS and of making basic changes or porting to PowerShell.
  • Software Defined
    • Demonstrate an understanding and ability to define general datacenter environments in JSON.
    • A basic understanding of configuration management and ability to define these management policies in software definitions.
  • Performance monitoring & data analysis
    • Demonstrate a moderate knowledge level on monitoring everything in the enterprise by multiple methods.
    • Able to take large data sets and analyze them using Microsoft products or freeware/open source.
  • Security
    • Conscious of security at all times as in preventing incidents.
    • Able to understand what a breech may look like and how to mitigate damage during an incident.
    • Basic pen testing & network knowledge as in fortifying services.
  • DevOps
    • Understand basic concepts of code repositories, Git based repos especially.
    • Basic knowledge around application monitoring & troubleshooting.
  • Databases
    • Demonstrate a basic level of SQL language competency.
    • Knows what a table is and how to insert, update, and delete data in a table by traditional management tools.
    • Can describe a schema in terms of structuring data.
    • Any non-structured data knowledge is a plus.
  • Enterprise services
    • Demonstrate understanding of Directory Services. AD DS is a plus.
    • Demonstrate understanding of VPN tunneling:
    • Between AWS network gateways (AWS <-> AWS) & On-prem (Site <-> AWS).
    • Demonstrate understanding of hybrid datacenter environments, distributed continentally.
    • Fundamental datacenter knowledge of hypervisor, storage and network.
  • ITIL experience
    • Change, Demand, Incident Management
  • Agile methodology
    • Understanding of terms and experience
  • Basic Responsibilities
    • Understand all aspects of the Windows technical environment.
    • Provide capacity planning and required.
    • Work as a team in a small group of engineers
    • Provide input on changes to A.D.
    • Assist in the support, testing and operations of projects
    • Respond to escalation calls from the Help desk, and other IT teams to resolve issues and perform maintenance.
  • Required Skills
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in supporting a large active directory infrastructure across various site
    • Well versed in DNS, DHCP, GPO, AD LDS, AD FS, AD troubleshooting
    • Strong technical and trouble-shooting skills
    • PowerShell experience
    • MS Exchange (nice to have)
    • Proactively shares information with teammates and stakeholders where appropriate
    • Develops effective relationships with teammates
    • Takes ownership of tasks
    • Communicates issues/concerns and takes responsibility to address them and monitors them through conclusion
    • Effectively manages time.
